My final project for my documentary journalism class. This segment was part of a larger documentary for my class called The Dart Project. Members of the class through a dart at a map of Richmond, VA and had to do a video story in that area.
My partner, Kelsey Mickelson, and I went to our designated area and stumbled upon a house with many “No Trespassing” signs and loads of cats in the front yard.
Madeline Griffin is the woman who takes care of these cats. Not only does she provide food, shelter and water for the animals, but she also brings them to the Richmond SPCA to be spayed or neutered as part of the “Trap, Neuter, Return” program.
